Donation drive
Through this initiative, CAMWISA will allow individuals (men and women) and groups (associations and companies) from Cameroon and all around Africa to donate items (food, stationaries, clothes, blankets and/or toiletries) to those in deep need such as orphans, victims of abuse, disables… The donation drives will take place throughout the year.
We would like to set a good example for our children by promoting a giving culture amongst communities. We advocate for the cause of girls’ and women’s abuses (physical, sexual and emotional). We believe that it is our job to care for them.
Types of donation
- School supply drive
- Food drive
- Baby supply drive
- Hygiene or personal care items drive (tubes of toothpaste, shampoos, sanitary pads, skin care products, and/or soap).
2022 beneficiaries
This year’s donation drive will be directed toward:
The Johannesburg Children’s Home: A registered Non-Profit Organisation (NPO 001-034) and Public Benefit Organisation (PBO 18/11/13/1111) provides a safe refuge for up to 64 children of all races who have been found in need of care by Children’s Court. They care for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) found to be disadvantaged through physical, sexual or emotional abuse, severe neglect or abandonment, some are affected or infected by HIV/AIDS.
Tshwane Haven: Tshwane Haven provides a safe home environment for abandoned, abused, traumatised, orphaned, sick and HIV-positive babies and children. It was established in 2007, at a time when the Tshwane Place of Safety Association (TPoSA) was having to turn away a large number of children with medical problems. This included children who are severely malnourished, have TB or HIV, have heart and lung problems, or have Down syndrome. It currently accommodates a maximum of 20 children, 5 foster children and 15 babies and toddlers at a time.

Breast Cancer Awareness
Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is observed every October, our campaign on the 30th of October aims to raise awareness of the effects of breast cancer.
The World Health Organisation reported that breast cancer is the most common cancer among women worldwide. In 2020, there were 2.3 million women diagnosed with breast cancer and 685 000 deaths globally. As of the end of 2020, there were 7.8 million women alive who were diagnosed with breast cancer in the past 5 years, making it the world’s most prevalent cancer. Therefore, our campaign emphasises the significance of being alert to any unusual changes to our breasts, emphasising that women should be vigilant not just for lumps, but for any unusual changes to their breasts, including dimpled skin, turned-in nipples, nipple discharge, any of these changes could be an indication of cancer. However, there are many reasons for lumps to develop in the breast, most of which are not cancer.
CAMWISA is joining the fight against cancer. We will use this campaign to help increase support for breast cancer awareness, encourage women to live a healthy lifestyle and regularly go for mammography for early detection, treatment, and palliative care of this disease.
